I looked up the law, technically in order to be considered for the show and display status you have to provide proof that your insurance company has approved you for no more than 2,500 miles in a 12 month period. However, if you intend to use it on the road you'll also need to have an RI bring it up to US spec.

I think we know what needs to be done.
