Anecdotal evidence at best, but for a brief time in 2003 I drove a Chevy 3500 8.1L with a wrecker body on it.  The best MPG I ever got was 6... that thing was a PIG! And I didn’t spend a ton of time idling, either.

1: Feld can go suck a fat one. A lot of their claims are a real stretch. They sound butt hurt and desperate.

Having a real-life monster truck series and producing toy trucks is the kind of life I want to live!

Check out the 1:64 Bigfoot #1 from Greenlight. It is AWESOME. They also sell a muddy version of it...

I think you’d be surprised at how many people don’t know how our tax brackets work... I’d bet it’s more than 50% of the population.

Regarding the stagflation in the 70's, what effect did the oil crisis have on that?  Tax rates are really only one piece of the economic puzzle, aren’t they?

When they mentioned a guy in New York I started hoping it was Jay-Z.

Excellent response! As someone who also grew up in a conservative household, and listened to the likes of Rush and Hannity and others I can relate. If that’s what you grow up knowing, and if you listen to certain people without any additional context, they become your reference point for what is normal and acceptable

I know there’s a less-than-zero-percent chance of it happening, but I have been hoping its name is Firebird and will spearhead the revival of Pontiac.

This made me LOL.

Their story lines are always crap, but the quality of the game itself in the graphics, flight controls and mission variety always kept me coming back. I played through Ace Combat 4 on the PS2 countless times; I’m sure I’ll do the same with this one when I pick it up!

We have a 2WD Frontier in my delivery fleet that’s about five years old, and it was an outdated truck when we got it back in 2014! Even the S-10 felt more up to date in its last years than the Frontier does. Inefficient use of interior space, cheap plastics everywhere, uncomfortable seats... it’s just a mediocre truck

Leasing isn’t necessarily dumb, it’s just not right for everyone. I assume your friend does a lot of miles, which then makes her a poor candidate for a lease in general. People that do under 10-12k/year can score a good deal pretty easily, though.

I wonder how long this has been in the planning process. Has it been in the works for a while, or was Rivian the catalyst for this by announcing a capable, attractive full-size electric truck and SUV just a month or two ago? Ford just fast-tracked access to BEV technology by their recent partnership with VW also.

Your point about California’s gas tax raises an interesting question. With more California drivers adopting BEVs what is the state going to do about the lost revenue? Those drivers aren’t paying a tax on gas if they aren’t buying gas...

I think that area is a unique bubble. In the vast majority of the country gas is well below $2.50/gallon. Even below $2/gallon in some lucky spots...

Newey is extremely clever and has a lot of good people working with him. It wouldn’t surprise me if Red Bull emerged with the best chassis again this year and an accelerated understanding of the new regulations. That, plus additional power from Honda (provided that it doesn’t grenade itself) might actually give them

Truth! Hopefully it’ll still be around in a few years when I have kids. I’d prefer to buy new but at least I know I’ll be able to find a used one... It’s pretty much the perfect vehicle at that point.

That model is awesome! Is it a custom build or was it sold like that at some point?

I’m genuinely surprised that the Pacifica isn’t selling well. I mean, I know it’s not a massive SUV and that seems to be the craze right now, but it’s a terrific vehicle that has a ton of actual utility and comfort.
