I think it would have to be “Vis-coose”, then I could go into an explanation of how we’ve been bastardizing his name in America by mispronouncing it for all of these years...

LOL at Johannes Viscous. I’m gonna steal that...

When I was younger and worked at a service station, we had a summer helper who knew absolutely nothing about cars.

As I understand it, when it shuts off the temperature in parts of the engine can temporarily increase. It won’t increase forever, but there are still hot spots that are less than ideal I guess. When it can go through several on/off cycles inside of a few minutes, that can be a problem over the life of the vehicle.

I have two friends that recently purchased Kia Niros and yes, they are seeing 50+ MPG in real-world driving. Pretty impressive!

A lot of vehicles with stop-start technology have electric auxiliary water pumps to keep it circulating so the car doesn’t overheat while it’s at a stop light or stuck in traffic. Hybrids have them, too.

The Fusion is dying in like... 3 or 4 years. That’s like buying almost any other vehicle in the 2nd or 3rd year of its product cycle. No reason to avoid it.

Mergio, look on the bright side... think of all of the trucks left that weren’t stolen! Guy’s still got like a 99.5% success rate.

So thieves used these trucks to Ram through the gate, huh?

Neat. I always wondered what the OE side was like... I like aftermarket, but it can certainly be frustrating at times juggling the general public, endless phones, etc. Thanks for the insight!

I think the difference here though is that Apple has designed a product to fit into a pocket, knowing that most people have more things in their pocket or purse than just a phone. They should have designed the product to withstand the environment it’s likely to be in over the course of its life.

What was the transition like going from aftermarket to OE? I’ve trained a few people coming the other way and it can take some time for them to get settled...

Earning minimum wage doesn’t mean someone’s a complete moron. But... when a company pays minimum wage and offers little to no opportunity to grow beyond that, you’re fishing in a very different talent pool than one that has experienced, ambitious, career-minded people.

Do you have license plate lookup where you are? It’s the NUTS. So much easier to get a 5-7 character license plate than a 17-character VIN... plus ours seems to get more data out of it than regular VIN lookups do, even going so far as to give us trim level, driveline config (AWD/RWD/etc) and cab configuration on

Technically the names may be different, but both vehicle owners are likely to just say they have a “Wrangler”. Same with the Outlander vs. Outlander Sport, or people telling me they have a Cherokee when they mean Grand Cherokee, or a Sebring which could be a coupe, convertible or sedan, or an “Outback sport” which is

Man, Swedish meatballs are Turkish... Volvos are Chinese... what’s this world coming to?

I eat a lot of hot stuff and have a pretty high tolerance, but even then I overdo it sometimes. Milk definitely works well. I’ve never done a side by side test though to see if whole milk, with a higher fat content, would work better than 2% or skim.

I suspect that’s because people keep shopping at places where the parts people are paid minimum wage, thereby basically telling the major chains in the industry that it’s okay that their parts people don’t know anything.

THIS. I hate this... it’s hard enough to get the correct year from people, then throw two completely different vehicles with the same name into the mix? Sigh...

Three things...
