A former friend of mine didn’t clear the snow off the top of her small SUV and snapped a wiper linkage and almost got in an accident when it all came down at once while coming up to a stop sign.

I had this happen a week ago in a stretch of road just like you described. Someone stopped to “be nice” and let someone jaywalk about 100 feet from an intersection with a crosswalk. By “being nice” they almost caused a seven car pileup.

Second the two-foot drivers. How’d I forget them?? Although I don’t hate that I get to sell them brake pads again twice as quickly...

Sometimes you HAVE to stop at the end of the ramp. There’s a yield sign, which means you don’t have the right of way and if it’s not clear, then you have to stop. It’s really only a problem with on-ramps that were designed with little to no run-up and poor sight lines, so feel free to redirect your anger at the

I can’t see that as a pet peeve. The two terms are generally interchangeable, especially in parts of the country where metal lines like to rot out and fail.

People that slow down on a highway when preparing to get off at an exit, but don’t move into the exit lane right away, which f’s up the travel lane.

Here’s two that come to mind right away:

I didn’t realize they had actually done some design updates. Good for them! But also if the general public isn’t aware of that, then all of that work won’t have any positive effect on their image...

I agree; I wasn’t saying this was a good car, or that it was worth anywhere near what it was asking. I just agree with the other commenter’s point that it would be fun to have a museum of just turdpile/normal cars instead of the usual special/fast/pretty ones.

This! Even if the cars weren’t especially shitty at the time, just “normal”. I’d go to that museum... and hopefully they’d have a perfectly preserved 1984 Chrysler minivan.

Well said. There’s no reason to purchase a new Harley when there is a glut of used ones out there that are essentially the same. It’s not like buying a ten or twenty year old car where there are a lot of complicated mechanical things to iron out... an old bike could be picked up, fully sorted and even customized a

I’m with you; we all want to be purists who only care about driving dynamics, exhaust note, etc. but when you’re shopping a daily driver the other little things have to be considered. Infotainment screen, cupholder placement, etc... Maybe those don’t have to be the best, but they at least have to not be a negative.

The only Focus experience I have is with old, high-mileage crapcan rental cars... so not really fair for me to judge the model off of those, IMO. No Fiesta experience at all...

I assume since they’re depreciating so quickly, a new Giulia wouldn’t be a good lease candidate? Or is that not necessarily the case due to manufacturer-supported residual value trickery, etc.?

For a lease? Yeah. They practically give the Altima away... It’s relatively easy to get a 3-year Altima lease for under $200/month with nothing down.

That Scorpio is terrible! I would have guessed it was a Daewoo if I hadn’t known. The Ford concept car, as awful as it is, looks more production ready...

“According to the host, the cola’s low viscosity meant the soda made its way past the piston rings and into the combustion chamber, thwarting any chance of ignition.”

I was thinking the same thing. This reminds me of many of the crappy Mythbusters attempts at car myths... Good idea, but not thought all the way through.

I’m with you!
