Same here. I usually sit in row 17 or 18 if I can... and I still will. Even in the event of another catastrophic engine failure, the shrapnel spray pattern is so random that the odds of someone being hurt or killed in that seat again are just as small as they were the first time.

Umm... wouldn’t that actually be 500 cars per week on average then?

Re: Gym clothes, how about making the seats out of a fabric that won’t absorb stink from sweaty gym clothes. Or factory seat covers that can be easily removed and washed with the regular laundry? That last idea would probably sell well with families with small kids, or people with pets, too.

Center stack aside, that interior looks horrendous with black, gray AND tan. Any two is fine, but all three? C’mon Lexus.

I was always curious about rust’s effect on structural integrity, etc. over the life of the vehicle. This was an interesting start, but I hope another organization picks this up and runs with it so more conclusive results can be determined...

Generally it’s a bad idea to put money down on a lease anyway. Should something happen to the car, you never get that money back. With no money down, should something happen to the car then gap insurance will cover the difference between the car’s value and what you “owe” on the rest of your buyout.

The car looks great in yellow, except for the red brake calipers. Those need to be black! Otherwise it just looks like you’re sponsored by French’s mustard.

The original sketch for the ‘96 Caravan looked a lot like it... I remember seeing it in a magazine (Car & Driver I think) in ‘93 or ‘94 and it really did just look like an Intrepid front end was awkwardly grafted on there.

Not all cars look good in yellow. In fact, many cars do NOT look good in yellow.

I’ve heard the interiors on these were made of the same wood you’d find on a playground of that era.

The C5 might be the only Corvette I’d ever have any interest in owning. I always liked the way its lines flowed, and the pop-up headlights of course.

I’d buy that car. I remember when the Neon came out and how, at the time, it was a pretty decent economy car that also seemed to have some personality.

Grand Wagoneers have been fetching crazy money for a while now. I remember seeing the Wagonmaster ads in the back of Auto Week like ten years ago, and they were selling for over $40k then!
