Not to mention the quickest drivers on BeiYi mountain pass are truck drivers doing night delivery.

Cost of living has increased relatively, but not as much as Hk, Singapore and Chinese mainland cities. However we seem to have stupid import tax, that means Gopro will cost about 25% more than US MSRP. This applies to many products including cars(abt twice that of the US), that’s why Taiwanese like to shop in Japan

I'd agree, but these vans cost 2/3 that of a local Yaris, so…

Yes but no crumple zone. It's literally a death trap even in not so serious accidents.

Just want to share some wacky stuffs that us Taiwanese do to our beloved work ponies.

Not sure about that. I joined the Taiwan veryca fb group so I know there are a lot of manual ones, not sure about freeca. I do know that a lot of Toyota innovas are auto.

Yes nothing has changed, including our salaries!

Farmers? Haha they just paint two big words on the back "farm use" and run their machines on the road unregistered. You can legally drive "farm equipment" to and fro farms and a lot of rural folks use this trick. Registering it as cargo use does lower the tax, but I'm not sure if the back seat mount is still on the

YES Veryca made it to international media headline! Actually I was seriously considering it for a while. I’ve put that choice on hold, but will be on my list when I do need something practical.

Back in 2002 I went to college in Detroit. I was a foreign student so my address had a zip code of 48202. After summer, my sister gave me her car as she graduated and was leaving the country. It was a 97 Honda Prelude, and for me to take over the car, the lowest insurance rate I could find was $5000/yr. A lot of local

Even though the wish has a third row seat, there’s usually a 5-passenger limit on them for Taiwanese taxis. Meaning it is illegal for taxis to take more than 4 adults and a driver. The government always says it’s for safety. I say it’s so that you have to get two taxis instead of one if you have just one person over

I'm no expert in the mechanics of cars but just thinking that if the engine does break and Toyota needs to replace them with new ones, what are the chances that it will be upgraded to current new spec? The one with 5more HP and torque. I'm just glad that my '15 isn't in this recall.

Surprised that they didn't go for the real easy ones, like fingers(gripping) or teeth(biting).

Oh they are just warming up…

Ok seriously, what purpose is this truck meant for? I have a friend who does landscaping projects in the summer and haul trailers around the country with his Ram 2500 and that’s plenty enough. Something like this F650, I’d imagine the job will be more suitable for a semi truck or cargo truck. So who is this really

Here in Taiwan, the Delica didn’t get a replacement after Space Gear like they have in Japan, so these awesome van/trucks stayed around. People here like to lift them with big off road tires and turn them into off road campers. I have a friend who got one a few months ago and since then he hasn’t been home much,

Car number plate seems quite odd to be still in use in this day and age of information tech. How difficult will it be to use something like RFID to replace number plates? You can have mandatory scanners on every car so even if there’s car hit and run, it will be picked up. If not, all traffic lights and public CCTVs

Kinda feel that they’ve missed the opportunity to name this after Asimo, define this more as a robot than just another electric car. Too many other electric cars named with “E”, just way too generic and lame.

Ayone who’s driven on the autobahn and roads in other countries with lower speed limit will notice a major difference, which is the quality of the road construction. Roads in Germany are generally very well maintained. Ultra smooth, very little road surface changes(tarmac to concrete etc), unnoticable gaps and no bumps

Tobacco companies’ core product isn’t anything tangible, it’s “addiction” and they will invest their billions to bring new forms of addiction to the public in ways that you won’t even realize. They capitalize on human weakness. Tobacco is just one of the many tools.
