I’m not sure what to make of these accusations, but I do think the OP did a good job of outlining a few reasons why maybe that comparison isn’t quite so reasonable.

I understand the power of the the bully pulpit and that the President is widely considered the leader of their party, but it always strikes me as decidedly backasswards when people suggest a US Senator needs to be “elevated” to the executive branch to enact their legislative vision.
