I think you are an outlier. I also don’t remember anyone referring to it as either the NES or Ness back in the day. It seems like in the late 80's and up until SNES was released most people just called it Nintendo. I honestly don’t remember many people referring to them as NES/Super NES/SNES until after the year 2000.

I’m almost as old as you, and I’ve bought one brand new car in my entire life. 14 years ago my gf (now wife) and I bought a new Scion tC. And I still have it. Maybe when it rusts away in another 5 or 7 years from Wisconsin winters I’ll splurge and get another new car...

You’re responding to arguments that I never made! If you need a loan, like I did, you should get one. If you can manage to pay cash, do that. This was a post working through my own feelings about having had a loan. It’s not terribly complicated!
