Its a marketing gimmick. $10? Apple is still making an absolute killing off of these chargers. Why not $5 so at least it would compete with the cheap ones at FiveBelow and other places. And they would STILL make money.

Or...maybe got their heads out of their butts and switched to a mini-USB like the rest of the world.

All this could be avoided if Apple sold their chargers for a reasonable price to begin with...
