I don’t think the game ever promised fully customized player characters that people can fully customize themselves, it was never the selling point, specially that there are hundreds of games out there today that allow that.

And they are bold enough to stick to their creative choices and vision, and for a good reason not just laziness or stubbornness, which is something to respect, they will lose customers whatever they do but they will also gain new ones eager to try out this new experiance when they hear about it.
What resolution are you watching the trailer on any way!?.. I downloaded the 720p and it looked quite good on my HD monitor.. I belive the 1080p version would look even better and closer to what the actual game will look like.
It is way way better than WoW’s mundane to watch and ridiculously boring to play combat and if you actually played TERA you would have realized it really matters to move all the time, flank your enemies and dodge thier attacks while using your abilities in the right time and place (with an actual combo system too)..…
The idea is that you find people with powers that compliment yours, it’s great tool to make you seek out other people in the game who also had randomized powers and try to find a way to use your powers as team.. You know.. Like being a freaking X-men member.
Very intersting idea with the X-Men MMO and the random mutant power thing, this is quite intersting that I’d love to play a game like this (being a fan of X-men and all that).. People are so locked into their tiny boxes it’s just sad, whether it’s the game developers or the gamers themselves.. Rust at least has bold…
The idea would be making you feel like a Mutant, mutants never choose their powers nor chose to be mutants, that would be the goal of the game.. Make you go through the whole experience of being a teenage mutant, how people react to you suddenly developing a power that you didn’t even choose.. Etc etc.. I think we…
Sigh, these reactions really make me laugh and also facepalm, didn’t we already establish that Rust doesn’t allow you to customize your bodily features, i don’t understand what’s all that rage now aganist female characters (and about race before, really ridiculous).
Then this game isn’t for you, really simple.
What i meant was that there is no lag throughout the entire game, maybe a certain spot or area but not more than that... Kinda like the swamp from Dark Souls.. People complained a lot about that but all i experienced was a slight drop in framerate and it never really bothered me.
I didn’t do much planting in GrimGrimoire, Muramasa or Dragon’s Crown... Food is important in at least 2 of those games (sexy food XD) but there isn’t any botany in them, but if it was in Princess Crown then we do have a Odin Sphere as a spiritual successor to Princess Crown indeed.
There is a huge difference between watching a guy stand still in the same spot waving his hands at the monster’s toes for 15 mins, and watching what looks like an actual fight from a movie or an anime where the character jumps around, flips, slides and side-steps to avoid enemy attacks before dishing back cool looking…
It is better becasue positioning and distance actually matter a lot in GW2 and you can actually dodge attacks and use tactics to win fights that are practiaclly not possible to do in WoW due to how automated the fights there are.
It probably sounds cool on paper but it looks soooo boring and tedious, personally i never liked MMOs becasue of the tedious, dull and boring combat systems they had, Guild Wars 2 and T.E.R.A at least tried to change that and improved combat dramatically.
That’s what a cool solo MMO boss fight should look like.
It’s the “20 tries” part thats was probably time consuming.
Just a quick note, pixel art is fundamentally different from painted art ... in games like Street Fighter 2 they HAD to redraw and paint all the sprites from scratch for the HD remake because of the way pixel art (used in most early fighting games) is drawn .. with Odin Sphere the sprites are painted not drawn pixel…
Why? It added a layer of depth to the gameplay and combat, and also tied with the alchemy system which used plants and seeds in recipies.
Like in which game? Games like Streets of Rage and Metal Slug -namely the most famous sidescroling brawlers ever- are built around repetition.. You shoot/punch/kick/stab anything that moves while walking from left to right and avoiding enemy hits and projectiles.. Backdrops change and there might be some weapon…
Ahm.. Ahm.. It still had characters with grotesque exaggeration of bodily features (i omitted sexual because it’s quite subjective what parts are sexual except for the actual sexual organs themselves) .. Just not the main characters, this actually applies to most male and female humanoid bosses in the game (even Odin…
