I absolutely despise homophobia and transphobia. This beautiful child doesn’t deserve to be ridiculed for their gender expression. I am heartened by how supportive and loving their parents are, in spite of societal pressures to condemn them. Kudos to Dwyane and Gabrielle for setting a good example.

I can’t watch this video. My heart aches for this young woman and every woman who is under the thumb of domestic violence. There are far too few resources for women to utilize to combat a violent partner, and I’m horrified by the fact that this young woman used video as a way to seek justice posthumously.

Good on LaBouvier for speaking up for herself and shining a light on this institution’s misdeeds. I’d like to feel happy for Ashley James (and I am to the extent that she’s worked hard to get here), but I don’t trust Guggenheim in the slightest.
