He pretty succinctly sides with Epic in that piece. Here’s his conclusion.

The majority of the people playing Fortnite are children, yes. That’s not even debatable.

Do you not see how you just made a number of logical fallacies and assumptions about my point, and where it’s coming from? I don’t owe you a pleasant explanation, but here you are.

I don’t know many gamers who want an “endless stream of content”. I know a lot of game companies making games like Destiny, using psychology and an understanding of addictive tendencies and how those work in games, and utilizing them to maximize profits and minimize developer effort in terms of creating “new games”.

And THIS is the company you guys(More accuretly Nathon Grayson) seem to have a desire to have run the industry and be the face of PC gaming?

God I hope you never read a book with characters in it

There are thousands of games on Steam. Not all of them are reviewed by “professionals”. Should they have absolutely no way to have a community speak about them on the platform? Give people an idea of what they’re about or who would enjoy a game?

Like all FromSoft games, there were clues, you just have to look for them. I guess it is a bad thing the game doesn’t just shove it all in your face, but it’s all there for you to find. Personally, that’s half the appeal for me. Read the items, read the descriptions, look at the boss fight and see what’s similar to

I mean is it “drug dealing” when I buy from my countries government stores? That’s what this game was aiming to simulate, but replace government stores with private dispensaries.

You havent seen it because you aren’t looking.

It saddens me because couch co-op is dead, and Borderlands let me and the wife play a game we both loved together. That’s dead. There’s literally no title that does that, or will allow me to do that with her. I don’t want to buy two copies of every fucking game so we can play it once in a while, but BL always lets you

I’m not going to buy it, maybe ever, and that saddens me.

Until there is actually balance in the relationship, why would you want to give them MORE power? Fuck them until we’re equal, we’re no where NEAR that point.

I genuinely don’t care if Devs feel that way. They have all the power anyways. Why do I want to give them more? And more? And more? It’s sad that gamers will just eat up shit that’s factually bad for them and the hobby, and it’s sad that people like you refuse to see any value in satisfying customers. And it’s sad

The people who buy games, and the people who make games are symbiotic. You keep acting like only devs matter. If they did, then why even sell games? No, it’s about both parties, and a balance between the two. Epic doesn’t want a balance, and has explicitly said it will be a dev focus store. Fuck that. The industry has

No. You can’t get mods on Epic, like the Steam workshop. There aren’t reviews, or forums on Epic. And Epic tacks on the fees to the customer, where as Steam, Origin, Uplay, Battle.net, Discord, Itch.io, and GoG all eat those fees.

They’re not attracting Devs because Steam is bad.

“accept a worse product, don’t complain”.

Except Epic makes you pay all the fees and the publishers take that extra cut so you’re left paying more? Why’s that good?

They don’t get the money publishers do. Publishers make deals not devs
