this is when you use your phone on somebody else's network. do you think orange/o2/vodafone/t-mobile (intl)/digicel/any other telecom is ok with you sending messages on their network when you're not even their customer?

if it's still being offered, that's not grandfathered.
you're wrong, you can still keep unlimited whilst being a 4g phone user. just make sure the person doing your upgrade knows that.
