I slip the clutch in stop and go traffic, rarely dump my clutch, engine brake to slow down and with 5 family owned manuals (with a combined 1,000,000 miles) had to only change one clutch (at 200k). Just take care of your stuff and it should last.

In a smaller HP car you are punished for every small mistake you make during corner entry, mid and exit. Every brake you perform sometimes must be late to help carry your speed through turns and set you up for your next corner. Scrub too much speed or miss your exit line and that can really screw up the entire lap.
