If she has believed for years that her niece is being abused, she absolutely should have said something back then. Still late is better than never. It wasn’t until I was in my 30s that a family member had the balls to ask what my father had been doing since I was 4. Aunt may also have just not suspected until now-

Somehow I bet she had a lot more to say, and her embarrassed editor stepped in to pare it down to this gem of victim blaming.

If dude has been raping his daughter, that is all the more reason for the Aunt to speak up, let her know that she’s not alone, that someone will believe her, someone will help her. That someone has noticed something is off and cares.

I would have preferred for Bernie to get the nomination (got a little birdie and everything) but he didn’t. I take it you’re concerned that this Hyde repeal is empty rhetoric on Clinton’s part, due to the intricacies involved with unwinding it from thirty years of appropriations bills? I am less concerned about her

Dude, if someone can get Trump to focus long enough to grasp, and then explain without the aid of a teleprompter, the difference between a bill and a repeat rider, I will eat my left tit.

It looks like you might have already- I don’t see turd being starred at all. But just in case, hit the star again. That always destars on mine. Maybe test on someone you like first, just in case?

Pretty sure it’s a troll. I’d give him 3/10.

We can only hope having one’s wrongness pointed out so publicly and immediately would give one pause to reconsider. I get where you’re going with Leslie being easier to publicly chastise because she’s female, but I think she and the judge are both publicly exposed in a way the Turners are not. Unless I’ve missed out

Want to sign the petitions? Here’s the starter, this one is updated, and here is the official recall website. Don’t forget to send in the written complaint to CA judicial review commission. There are no residency requirements to do so.

Hi Jezzies! Wanna do something about this shitshow? Turns out we can! File a complaint with the CA judiciary committee. No need for CA residency. You can use any of these points as a starting place for your claims:

There is so much that’s wrong with this case, it’s sickening. But there is something we can do about this. We can file a complaint with the CA judiciary commission against Persky. One need not be a resident to do so.

So I’ve been reviewing the state sentencing guidelines and Persky is technically within those, but I think the real points to hammer are all in his reasoning for granting such leniency. They are blatantly classist and sexist, a clear statement of whom he believes has value in society, and those views are not in line

CA does have a judicial review board, and there are no residential requirements for filing a complaint. I think it’s time they get swamped.

Which is part of the reason we need a public demonstration of how this “slap-on-the-wrist,” “but-ow-that-hurts!” is not how justice is served. I’m filing a complaint against the presiding judge with the CA Judicial Commission. Fuck trusting the re-election process, he needs to be out on his ass in away that he can’t

I think there is something we can do about this whole debacle. Not about the shit-stain father or the undirected corn kernel son, but I think the CA judicial commission needs to get a sense of how unacceptable the 6-mo sentence is. Nothing on the form says one must be a state resident to file. Let’s flood them.

Judge Sharon Johnson Coleman’s ruling in Illinois’ Northern District removes the possibility that the American women might refuse to play in this summer’s Rio Olympics as part of the maneuvering over their union contract.

That would make me feel better about people. This prof was a colleague of Mr Logic’s, and I just keep thinking about how many unstable people I knew in grad school. I'm a bit touchy on this.

This man is in need of some mental health care himself, because this reads like a pathological lack of empathy. Coupled with a loose grip on reality since I’m pretty certain it’s his political representatives that shut down and gutted the mental health programs to begin with.

I’ve found the phrase, “that’s just not right,” to be really effective in these scenarios. You don’t bring up the defensiveness and subsequent cut-off of calling it abuse, and you validate the abused’s experience of something being not right. People stay as long as they can’t trust themselves, and supporting that
