There’s ignorance on both sides, and a System in place that tends to suppress the have-nots. It sucks, and we need to remember that most cops are good people, most protesters are good people, and that you’re always going to have a percentage of short sighted, selfish twits that screw it up for everyone else.

The fact that you have to start your comment with “I don’t defend police” when you post anything to the contrary here is a sad narrative. The pendulum swings so wildly back and forth with things like this that eventually it’s hard to tell who’s doing what right and wrong.

You do realize it’s not as cut and dry as “modders that leave are whiny little kids” and “modders that stay are doing it for the love”, right?

Maybe I’m missing some past history here, but if not, you really come off as a conceited prick making a lot of ignorant assumptions.

I know someone more media-wise than I can dig up a clip of SAS saying he can’t or won’t support someone because of their racist beliefs. I would love to see that confirmation (not like I need it) of his hypocrisy when dealing with matters affecting those other than himself.

Well, Lil B’s got his fans, but I’m not one. There are tons of different styles out there and lots of artists dropping great stuff. I’m not a fan of all the guys I’m about to list, but they are some of the names I just added to my playlist that I share with others: Your Old Droog, Oddisee, L’Orange (a truly nasty cut

A-fucking-men.

I’m not in the camp of “So and so is talentless!”, but to read lines about his lyrical strength is funny. I hate people who try to prove that their taste is the the best taste, so I’m not in the “Nas fans” camp, as you call them, either.

Except some of the default rings are stupid little jingles.

Great. Keep alerting.

If you read one or two lines of the post, sure, you've got a point. The entire posts talks about highlighting different artists, not the same type you can hear everyday on the radio. You see, I'm not a writer on a public blog. I'm a reader who would like to see more variety in the types of hip-hop that they

Couldn't have said it better.

Every once in a while (read: a LOT) Deadspin turns into a personal blog of a writer's musical tastes. In this case, the writer tends to have a love for shallow, lyrically weak hip hop.

Well, the best I can tell:

Jesus, this music is bad. I feel for people stuck in this hole of industry rap. I can't be the only one here who clicks on a "rap" link and just hopes, more than anything, that it's gonna be something quality. There's more of us out here, I'm sure. Maybe we just don't comment because we know it's futile?

As in "There were blacks in there. We HAD to burn it!"

After watching the video I've come to the conclusion - this dog rules!

I must be reading your comment incorrectly; Are you saying that getting very angry after someone rear ends you, to the point of wanting to grab him, shake the shit out of him (he never punched the assailant) and yell "What the fuck is your problem!?" would be classified as serious sociopathic behavior?

Deadspin: Fun to read, and also fun to watch the writers wallow in the same drudge they enjoy accusing others of.
