It pains me to say it but Lutz was spot on with his assessment. Especially considering Pontiac was just hitting their stride again after years of mostly crap...having just released the G8, which- yes, it was a Holden rebadge- but it was a pretty fuckin’ killer performer and a great value to boot.

Absolutely baffling that GM wanted Pontic dead, but wanted to keep Saab. Pontiac actually had an identity until the day it died, unlike Saab which hit its low point as a rebranded Subaru.

Non stop Houston to Brisbane; about a 15 hour flight. I reserve an aisle seat due to moderate claustrophobia, and fly coach to “save the company money” (pro tip: dont ever do this). Good to see the E39 made the list. The E39 M5 was my dream car to buy after finishing school, but then I didn’t finish college for a long time because I couldn’t afford it, and then didn’t even finish with the degree I’d originally intended.

Counterpoint on the HHR: It’s the perfect vehicle for someone with a small business or for the person building a mini camper. My wife’s HHR, which was very far past its prime, got 35 mpg all day every day. Some of the best sleep I’ve ever had in a car was in the back of one of those things.

I like Clarksons farm because its entertaining but doesnt take itself to seriously and Clarkson just seems to actually be having a good time. 

Clarkson’s Farm is just as good as any of the car stuff, and rather more educational.

A thousand times yes to not using the diesel pump if you don’t have a diesel car, and other gas pumps are wide open.

Generally I’ve found that the diesel pumps on the same island as gas pumps will have the passenger nozzles. If there’s a separate diesel island and diesel pumps mixed in with the gas, the separate island will have the high flow nozzles.
