In all fairness, When Hyundai came to America with its Excel sedan, not only was the car trash but Hyundai “It rhymes with Sunday” and its buyers’ misfortunes became a running joke.
You can give it any label you want, but at its core, the Flex was a *station wagon*. A Country Squire for the new millennium, if you will.
Enthusiasts know that station wagons are good. The general population thinks otherwise, and thus, the failure of the Flex.
Can’t lose real estate to rising oceans if the rising tide raises all ships.
I couldn’t agree more. The combination of a quad cab interior with the ability to convert to a long bed’s hauling capability without having to live with a vehicle the length of a motor home is really great.
As much hate as the avalanches got, I feel like they were extremely useful trucks. Looking back, I don’t even mind the look of them. If I had use for a truck, I would love an old av
Im gonna miss Buttigieg in that transport secretary role. Guy is just ludicrously sharp.
He always claims 2 years because it's to pump the real product, TSLA stock.
Wrong Granada for sure. That’s the UK one. And the Mark 1 Granada in both sedan and coupe is a fantastic looking thing.
I would say the Vega is number one, with the X cars close behind. I would love to have heard the talk about it as it was about to be launched by the executives in private. Like when did they realize what a total turd it was, and how it got approved in the first place. Business train wrecks are something I just love to…
“Why would the best, most effective value proposition to distribute vehicles to customers not be your first choice?” Devlin asked Auto News. “And why would you reject an existing distribution and sales system that already exists?”
Good god, enough with the hate on the Mustang II. It was the right car at the right time and it sold like hotcakes at a time when Mustang sales were in a severe decline. Not to mention that it kept the nameplate alive for future generations of better cars. Was it the best Mustang? No. Was it the best they could do in…
One thing cool about the Vega is the Verti-Pak rail car that was developed to ship these. If only GM had spent the money for that on the actual car it might not have sucked so bad.
Of course Pinto is going to pop up on this list because people have been groomed for decades into having that opinion about it. But it’s only flaw was a misplaced gas tank early in its run. It was still an attractive runabout that still sold pretty well.
The Pinto was worlds better than the Vega or Chevette. The Vega had major cooling problems and needed engines quicker than fill ups sometimes. The Chevette set a new standard with rust that even the Italians and Japanese couldn’t match. Both had electrical systems that Lucas would have rejected. Pintos may have been…
GM’s Diesel sedans from the 1980s. Also, GM’s 4-6-8 V-8s and their boat anchor, the Iron Duke 4-cylinder engine. Both of those made any vehicle pretty bad to own or drive.
Gotta be the Vega. While the Mustang II featured in the article was awful, the Vega took it to a whole other level. Prematurely rusted, drank oil like a 2-stroke, had this stupid sealed air cleaner...
Counterpoint: none of these are terrible. They’re all perfectly adequate, perfectly average cars from their period in history.
My immediate thought when looking at a picture with trump supporters is 1) They are paid to be there. 2) They are completely and utterly STUPID.
Liked these way better than the GLC that replaced it.
