Deep diving into the weeds of the banal inter-workings of cars is EXACTLY what makes car-sites awesome. Please dont read any of Torch’s tail light novels. Of all the gripes you could have had with this site, this is the hill in which you chose to die? Someone casts light on the subtle nuance of how your car works so

We need to do something about this cultural acceptance of a comply or die mentality.

Red would look good. Screw the purists, it’s your hooptie, do what makes you happy.

Some trims of BMW i3 also had wool seats.

My car has a device known as a “Rear Main Seal” that coats the undercarriage with a rust proofing substance while I’m driving.

Found a review of one here:

Probably a bit like the two-stroke street bikes of the time like a RZ350. The power was “off or on”

Question from not-a-bike-guy here: Early turbos were legendary for the on/off nature of the boost, making early boosted cars (especially the front drivers) a bit of a handful at times under hard acceleration. How well do boosted bikes handle this, especially the early ones?

Very much agree. Maintain a German car correctly, and yes, sometimes that means proactively dealing with things that you should not have to deal with, and it will run very well basically forever. Treat it like an American or Japanese car with benign neglect and it will bite you in the ass like a rabid German Shepard.

Good luck finding an SS with low miles in that price range right now. Most of the ones I’ve seen lately are closer to $50k. It's older brother the G8 can be found pretty easily, though.

Sorry, long post ahead:

Bunch of little red flags adding up to a big one.

The J30 Maxima SE (89-94) was definitely cool in it’s day. The Maxima always occupied a weird space between mainstream sedans (Altima/Accord/Maxima, etc.) and premium Euros (3-series/C-Class,/A4, etc.).

The American side of the company has barely invested in any R&D outside of “Make hemi more powerful” the last decade or so. The most technologically forward-thinking vehicle they produced is probably the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid.

There can be only one talking Nova Scotian monstrosity with a face where no face should be! This isn’t the bloody island of Sodor! And I don’t trust Theodore. Where was he on 6 Dec 1917? Was he the real cause of the Halifax Explosion?

It is remarkable how the mood and productivity improve once Billy Preston shows up. The guy was much more than the “mediocre talent” hanging onto the Beatles coattails that Rolling Stone would have liked you to believe.

The way it should be. I will snowboard down to minus 20F, at that point the snow gets to be more like sand.

Aren’t batteries better in colder temperatures?”

I’m not sold on this concept’s direction, but if Volvo will actually build an electric wagon instead of the electric crossovers that every other automaker is extruding, I’m all in! An EV version of the V60 would check every box I want in my next car.

After my 2012 Volt got totaled I bought a 2017. They’re fantastic cars.
