I haven’t lived in NY forever - they changed the name of the Battery Tunnel and named it after Carey? Big meh. That’s as bad as the Tappan Zee bridge renaming.

FYI: You can still get a Volvo V60 as well as the V90. I drive a 2017 V60 T6 R-Design and it’s pretty rare to see another one, even in New England.

I owned a ’73 SM and a ‘69 DS and miss them both. A cool feature of the SM - intermittent wipers. I know you’re saying “big deal” but these adjusted with the amount of rain falling. There was a bi-metallic strip and nichrome wire under the steering wheel with the nichrome in the loop with the wiper motor and the

I currently drive about 60 miles each way, but usually only 2-3 days a week. My worst commute was back in the 80s - driving from NH to Boston, getting on the 6am shuttle flight to NYC, and taking the 7pm shuttle back. I did this 3x a week (M,W,F of course) for a year. That was a crappy commute.

I almost traded my TJ Rubicon for an LJ Rubi back when they were in production. I wish that I had.

Cymru am byth!

I’ve rented a manual Fiat 500 a few times when I’ve been in the UK. The pedals are a tad close together for my big feet, but they are a ton of fun. (It’s also the perfect car to go shooting down some of the tiny roads in Wales!) I’ve thought about finding a cheap one here for a commuter car.

For a while, the AHL had the Lowell (MA) Lock Monsters; that’s the only “Monster” team I can think of.

I’m looking at used 2017+ LCs right now to get down to one vehicle (replacing a pickup and a wagon). I can tow when I need to, go out west and offroad, and still deal with the winters here in the northern Northeast. I’ve owned plenty of Jeeps, a 1st and 2nd gen 4Runner and an FJ Cruiser, so I’m ready for a bit of lux.

LGA is next to the bottom of my list of airports. (The bottom of the list is OAI - AKA Bagram.)

The Chevrolet Vega was a nightmare in many ways, but they did produce a nicely-proportioned shooting brake (Vega Kammback) IMHO. I could do without the fake woodgrain though.

I currently lease a previous-generation ‘17 V60 T6 AWD and the only issue it’s had has been the exterior mirrors choosing a new location when the car has been parked for a while, but not every time. (Storing my seat/mirror preferences is a quick fix.) Thankfully I don’t have auto-braking but most of the nanny devices

It’s only about a 1/2 hour from where my wife grew up. I’ll have to go look at it at Thanksgiving as it will probably still be there. The funny thing is I saw my first Giulia Quadrifoglio on the road this weekend down on Long Island. Yes it was making highway speeds at the time...

That was my true of my Jaguar XJ-S too.

As a Boomer who has owned a few mid-engined and rear-engined cars, I’d buy it.

They’ll all go to the boneyard to be parted out; GM or FIAT will not want them getting into customer hands. They did that when some Pontiac GTOs delivered from Australia that were involved in a similar train accident; I think it was something like 30-35 2005 GTOs were destroyed and sent to the boneyard.

That brought back some memories; I bought a new 1978 Accord LX when I graduated from college. It was maroon with the maroon interior. It holds the dubious distinction of being the only car I’ve ever owned to strand me not once but twice due to the engine eating the valves (look up the Honda oil contamination issue for

My wife had a base 2002 Alero sedan (so base it had crank windows). She drove it for 15 years and 180,000 miles only replacing tires, brakes, 1 battery and tie rod ends. Oh and I replaced the ballast resistor when the fan controls stopped working (a common problem IIRC). My daughter drove it for one summer until the

Yep, because 40 years ago I had a car that stranded me twice (the only car that’s ever stranded me) - a ‘78 Honda Accord I bought new. (To their credit Honda replaced the engine twice, once out of warranty. It was an oil contamination issue.)

Thank goodness HOAs are not that common in our state.
