Harlan Ellison’s short story “Along the Scenic Route” will happen soon, I can feel it.

I have my shopping list ready and it looks a lot like yours Patrick: a DS (I miss my old one), a CX, a 5 turbo and a 205 GTI. If I could find another SM that I could afford, it’s coming too (I had a USDM SM). I will also import large drums of Citroen hydropneumatic fluid!
It’s amazing how big some of the SUVs have gotten. I have a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee (WJ) that always feels so tiny after I drive my pickup truck. Heck the WJ is 16" shorter than my daughter’s 2005 Taurus and only 2" longer than my VW Sportwagen.
Now this is one of my, um friends speaking of course, but if the Bimmer was only $4500, rent a ramp truck, pull up to the front of the dealer, set the Bimmer on fire and roll it through the front window.
‘64s had a leaf spring transversely-mounted to avoid wheel tuck under. I had a ‘64 Monza 2dr as a kid back in the 70s and it was a fun car - much faster than my friends’ Pintos and Vegas.
NP. I have a lot of nostalgia for those old tall wagons. They’re so much better than the current crop of CUVs (IMHO of course).
They would have to be under the road surface else in the colder climes the snow plows will scrape them right off.
The way I read this, I’d rather have the Camaro than the Mustang as the former did better on small overlap. If the Camaro is being dinged because it doesn’t have some front-collision nanny system on it (the front crash prevention score), I don’t take that as seriously.
1st: Nissan running out of capacity to make Rogues? Are there that many people who hate driving so much they buy a Rogue?
I owned a 2002 Avalanche, it was a great truck. Yes IMHO it road a lot better than the standard Chevy pickup of the time.
My first car was a 64 Corvair and I’ve owned a couple of Porsches, but no you have to draw the line somewhere. CP
This is a favorite of my wife and I. We played it at our wedding. People were confused. We were happy.
When I moved to NH in the 70s, they had TWO inspections a year, yep every six months. As I was driving a 914 that I had welded out of two bodies along with some extra iron pipe to keep it all flying in formation, this proved a challenge... until I got to know “that guy”.
I agree the metric system is horribly wrong.
I worked in radio years ago and I am a “face for radio” guy! (That said, I’m almost 10 years older than Evans and think I look a hell of a lot better than he does though.)
He’s a celeb presenter in the UK.
We could combine into the Church of the Later and Lost Gearheads.
So May’s church would be the Church of Later Gearheads.
I’d love to own another Citroën, though I don’t have any more room in the driveway (though I’ve owned a SM and DS in the past so I have some familiarity with repairing the beasts).
Our local PD has a RAM pickup with all the lights, push bars, etc. Couldn’t find a picture online though - the Internet has failed me!
