What is it with Ohio drivers? They drive like maniacs in their own state but then drop to below speed limits out of state. Maybe it’s the Ohio-Michigan rivalry? (My wife is from MI so I get to drive there a fair amount.)

I miss my Citroëns (I once owned a SM and a DS). I wish I could have a C6 here in the States.

It depends on the state though. In NH, vehicles older than 15 years (1999 and older) do not need a title. The law was recently changed though so vehicles from 2000 on will have titles forever.

Woo hoo! We’re number 1 in speeding (NH).

I grew up on Long Island and all the parkways are pretty treacherous. As others have said, they were built for slower speeds and to be “pretty”, hence the scant run-off/break-down areas, the tiny on and off ramps and the tighter than normal bends. IIRC Robert Moses also built the bridges with low clearance to prevent

As an owner of two TDIs, it’s doubtful I will have any fix done to my cars if it messes with the performance and/or MPG.

It reminds me a bit of driving in Ireland.

As others have said, it’s not foolproof. Also IIRC the gas stations have extra time to set up chip-based readers.

This is horrible, some of my favorite subblogs are closing. Oh and gawker is going -more- politics? Oh why not, you’ve politicized so many normal articles with propaganda.

I’ve had a torn plantar fascia and hurts like a mother all the time. I don’t know how he could get his foot planted enough even to throw those weak balls.

I just tried entering ‘car’ into the search field - I got ‘carly fiorina’ and ‘car storage bags’ at the top followed by ‘car rental’. That’s really odd as I have never googled either.

I love Maximum Bob, one of the coolest car guys ever.

I loved my 1970 Mini Cooper, an Innocenti made one with a 998cc engine. It was so much fun with so little engine.

Doug you are thinking of southern New England, particularly Connecticut when you talk about Camaro and Hummer hating. Up here in northern New England, all are welcome. (Take a miss on the big cities in Vermont, where the Hummer-shamers live, and you’ll be OK.)

Elmo dumbed down Sesame Street big time. He deserved to pay for his crimes.

I have an ‘04 WJ Grand Cherokee with the 4.0L and manual 4wd (ie - not the AWD system); it was the last year they offered this combo. It’s 11 years old now and is getting a bit of rust, but it’s surprisingly good on the fireroads of our area box stock.

My grandparents had one in the same green, but with a white interior and automatic. It was a fairly quick car with the 302, but this was not surprising as my grandfather was a closet speed demon!

Some people say he like to watch the same MotorWeek over and over, then sits in a white room and hums to himself. All we know is he’s called Captain Midnight.

A perfect powertrain is almost a given; the 4.0L and manual 4wd transaxle are pretty bulletproof. I say that as someone with an 11 year old WJ that’s rusting out, but the drivetrain is still fine at 130K miles.

I owned one of these about 25 years ago; they are not fast, but they are fun! A little high on the price but it is cherry, so NP.
