Wow, they've gone hi-tech at Jamaica!
Wow, they've gone hi-tech at Jamaica!
Brilliant phrase. I've owned an Elan and a Europa, so I understand completely!
I bought a '79 much like this one new not long after I got out of college. Mine was red with the same V6 and 3 pedal arrangement, but I also had the Recaro seat option which were awesome for a long drive. Mine also had the TRX wheels, which made the car useless in snow (I drove my Citroen SM in the snow instead. Yes,…
I had a 2002 Avalanche and it was great. I had zero problems with it, and it hauled just about anything. I think it's funny the GM has just rediscovered the bumper step for the new Silverados - it was one of those smart things in the Avalanche, along with the side boxes, the built in bed cover, and of course the…
CP. That body kit is fuggg-ly. I'd rather have a stock one for a few less dollars.
The first car is a Zaporozhets ZAZ-966 from the 60s. It's rear engined, and air cooled. I believe it's got a tiny-displacement V-4.
I owned a 2002 Avalanche for many years. I had zero problems with it, and it was a great vehicle both for hauling and for taking on trips. I actually preferred the original cladded model to the later Silverado-ish looking ones. It's one of the best vehicles I've ever owned.
That is a Chevy Chevette, known in our family as the Chevy Shitbox. My dad had one, and my sister had a Chevette diesel!
I remember back in the early 80s when we spent a lot of time calling them the "Patsies" instead of "Patriots". They were really horrible; I worked with a guy who had season tickets, and he used to give a least half the games away for free. He said he couldn't profit off what was probably going to be a crappy game!
-All- rest stops on the NY Thruway are over-priced, it comes with the territory. If we have the time, there are a bunch of places off the Thruway I've stopped at for food/rest breaks.
Angola used to have a Dennys IIRC. I like the stop before Angola going west (Clarence I believe) that has that sine non qua of the Thruway, a stop with an Arbys and a Tim Hortons.
Nooooo! That place was awesome.
You could simplify this to:
I had no idea there was a whiskey Advent calendar! That will make the holiday time better - I will have to get one next year!
To save a couple of $$ and not have the wreath on the front, you could go with a Chevy Avalanche, which is pretty much the same vehicle, and is also being phased out. (I owned one of the original Avalanches, and it was an excellent vehicle.)
When I'm not making mashed potatoes with my potato ricer, I also use it to make spaetzel, which is another side dish of the gods. (Being an American of Irish and German ancestry, what else would I do?)
I had a 2005 Outback wagon with the base engine and automatic. The automatic had to be replaced twice within 1 year. I sold the car after 18 months. It was good in the snow, and got meh gas mileage. It's the only car I've ever owned that stranded me somewhere (twice). I've owned French and British cars, and never was…
We had one of these when I was a kid - a '65 Biscayne wagon in aqua with the I-6 and 3 on the tree. My dad did not believe in optioning a car.
I have a 2011 Cruze Eco with the MT. It has just under 50,000 miles and has been trouble free. I would trade that bad boy in a second for a Cruze wagon though.
This is a 1991? Then it is less than 25 years old and depending on how it was imported, might just be sitting in your garage until 2016, provided the feds don't confiscate it if it wasn't imported correctly!
