Well, in the book, Daniel Day Lewis' character is white and is adopted by the Mohicans. All the Native characters are actually played by Native actors. Not, you know, Johnny Depp or Rooney Mara.

I heard that he once said that doing the film 12 Years A Slave was his way of giving "reparations" to the slaves his ancestors owned? I don't know how true that is but if he did say that...*major side eye*

Weren't some of his near-ancestors also slave owners? Cringe.

I was always told it was offensive/not to use it; but then again, I grew up in London. When I went to uni, I almost shat my pants when people (from smaller towns/villages) used terms like coloured and half caste. That said, BC is not an 18 y/o from Doncaster and should fucking know better...

Like, how can someone under the age of 40 even have "colored" in their vocabulary? Is it less outdated in the UK or something? I'm probably wrong, but I had always thought it died out significantly after the baby boomer generation.

Major Cumby side eye from me. Granted, it was a decent apology. BUT I am seeing some chat about how "coloured" is not offensive here (UK) which is bollocks. It is more archaic-offensive than deliberate-offensive, and maybe doesn't have quite the same sting as it would in the US, but this guy has no excuse.

Nah, man, that's what brackets are for. You fix the text and put it in brackets, or put a sic in there. Come on, I believe in you. You can do better than this!

YO THE PLURAL OF CAMPUS IS CAMPUSES, NOT CAMPUS', for fuck's sake. That is an appalling use of an apostrophe.

She still messes up a lot but I took it to mean if privileged women are dealing with rape culture, what hope is there for the rest of us? Also hardly anyone calls out Woody Allen while he gets a new show and Bill Cosby doesn't get the same treatment. They should both be called out.

That was the way I read it too; being privileged doesn't protect you from that crap.

I think she meant more that even privileged doesn't inoculate women from discrimination, not that the things that happen to privileged women are more important.

Dear Anthony Mackie,

His name would only be better if it was Reginald Pennyfeather III.

Dan went to NYU because he's, wait for it...

Looks like Dan is taking Sociology 101 this semester at Columbia. Or did he get into NYU? I stopped watching during Season 3.

Releasing that page three topless women will no longer be a thing, having all us women celebrate after all the years of hard work and frustration, and then dropping the bombshell suddenly that they never intended to cut page three and it was all a joke completely belittles women. The fact that they did this speaks

Gross.

Now playing

And here, courtesy of a tipster, is Fin and a buddy non-consensually licking women they don't know in public places. SUCH ART BRO

I agree. This is basically super-softcore porn - which doesn't mean it can't be artistic, but considering that it's little more than photographing women flashing their boobs or getting dressed in lingerie to greet pizza guys . . .

Awwww, he thinks he's being creative and edgy! That's adorable.
