Eh, no one’s perfect. He had to be wrong about something. ;)

Oh, cool! I can’t wait to listen! There’s also a book about this that I’ve been meaning to read: The Holy or the Broken about the history of the song.
I love Cohen but something about Buckley.... he was a young guy but an old soul. I don’t know. You can hear the weariness and heartbreak in his voice and his voice is beautiful. The version I listen to the most you can hear him sigh at the beginning and it’s like...that sigh contains the weight of the universe. And…
Ooh, I don’t know this one! Can’t wait to watch it when I get home!
I am closer to your age, but still swear by Buckley’s version!
I’ve heard this one! It’s great! Buckley’s is still better.
Ditto, only because that is how I first heard the song....his version in the movie Shrek. But after hearing Buckley’s cover...nothing else compares for me.
I’ve heard the kd lang verson! It’s very, very good. Still not Buckley level. Buckley’s version is transcendent. And obviously this is total fact because art is completely objective and not in any way subjective.
For real tho: same with anything he sang/covered.
Jeff Buckley’s version 4eva...but the honest fact is I first heard the song and loved it when I saw the movie Shrek.
Hot take: Jeff Buckley’s cover of Hallelujah is the definitive. All other versions can go home and take a seat. This one can sit in the cold, dark, moldy basement.
Sure, fine. I mean that dude challenged her to a duel for doing her job but two rights don’t make a wrong so ok, apologize for that comment. (Which she has, apparently.) I was more talking about the part where they talk about how Trump is crazy and irresponsible and doesn’t know what the fuck he’s doing. No apology…
Like Nancy Pelosi’s comment about Spicer resigning, “I don’t care.” Beautiful.
Then she starts singing the “10 Duel Commandments” from Hamilton.
I hope you’re right! But I can see a turdball like Sean Hannity making a meal out of this.
That’s a sucker’s bet.
You know the conservative media doesn’t understand context.
Agreed. But, you know, we’re through the looking glass here.
Nice. Classy, to the point, non apologetic, a little bit of shade about the microphones.
That was my first thought, too!
