Actually, Apple has to approve any apps to be part of CarPlay (same with Android Auto for what it’s worth).
What Waze really needs is a robust desktop app, to provide functionality to create and maintain POI database, custom routes, and other mid- and high-end GPS tools that power users need. I could get rid of my Garmin for good...
Worst thing is the “vehicle stopped on shoulder”. If I could remove ONE feature, it would be that. On long hauls, there is one almost EVERY MILE, and usually so far off the road it would do NOBODY any danger.

@slowurroll: I understand that many use their home as a canvas so to speak but I've never seen someone display their food containers or use them in a design. I could be wrong, it just seems strange to me. I also have kids so I have long forgotten what "just so" feels like.
