This should have a GLI badge, not GTI, which is usually used for other platforms and models. Rarely does the GTI name move to other cars in the lineup and this is certainly not an instance that I would support.

This is a local car. Thought you guys would enjoy it.
Because it's not supposed to have more power. That would make it more expensive and less practical. That's why the Golf R exists.
Damn, a few inches further back and that hideous Mk3 would have been destroyed! Come on, mother nature, get with it!
They're very different cars. I've looked for info on Notchbacks in the US a couple of times and never found any references to sanctioned importation. There are lots of VWs that were never sold here.
Certainly not, why?
Not according to Wikipedia (which, of course, could be wrong) but I'd love to see a testimony to their being sold here.
Fair enough.
Cars don't rust here.
Here's the car that we did import. Seems as though it was built for California so it was only right to bring it over.
I've wanted one of these for as long as I can remember. Notchbacks, to my knowledge, were never brought here, but a number of them were imported privately by individuals. Fantastic little cars.
My family used to have one - a 505 wagon (5-speed 2.2) that seated 8 people facing forward with trunk space to spare, and my dad had a 505 Turbo (5-speed, different 2.2) that was bright red and a lot of fun. Both are gone now but they were great cars.
What is the meaning of this? They're all over the place.
We certainly did.
Yeah, a 4WD Mk2!
I agree. Awesome car.
Super neat.
Mother of god that is a sexy car.
Very cool choice.
I saw this car in Monterey. It is just as bad in person.
