When you place a player on revocable waivers after the first trade deadline, you can do a couple things.

Imagine if Bryce was traded during the waiver deadline?  Even better, what if he was claimed and the Nats just let him go on a full on salary dump?  The takes would be so hot they’d kill us all.

Goddammit, Mookie Betts is so cool/fun/good.  I just wish he played for literally any other team.

I still maintain that, while it may be a more efficient brand of baseball nowadays, it definitely isn’t the most entertaining form. And I say this as someone that probably watches a couple hundred games a year.
