Okay, found another video from that event:
Shouldn't be faster. The 2001 Evo wasn't much improved from the ones used in 1999-2000, and suspension geometry has improved a vast amount in those ten years. The Citröen C4 WRC and the latest Focus WRC was faster due to active differentials and several other tricks I can't explain in a good way
Rally Finnskog is usually run as a test by WRC-teams before Sweden, and that year both Mikko Hirvonen and Mads Østberg entered the rally in WRC-cars. Why am I saying this? Because Henning were battling with Mikko throughout the rally, in a car that's over ten years older. In the end Henning placed 2nd, between…
I wish they actually raced these S1's in ROC. Even though they had rallycross Polos, nothing can beat the sound of this..
Yep, the Sebs will drive Petters car when he's out rallycrossing and in Monte? If I remember correctly it was some tarmac rounds that clashed with rallycross, I can check it later on. Might do a silly-season writeup in the new year!
And the fastest car yesterday? The Marklund VW Polo of course! Though Petter would've been faster in his own DS3!
Some rounds of the WRC clashes with WorldRX rounds next year, so it won't be a full season but possibly the same amount of rounds as his brother Henning did this year. Rumors are that he will be in a second Citroën team with Robert Kubica, with Pirelli as their main sponsor.
A gas engine (in cars, not a generator) wouldn't produce power as effectively as an coal powerplant. A gas powerplant would be better, but still not optimal. All energy sources has a downside, so if we want to carry on with this life we have to sacrifice something..
I know. That's why I want to put some emphasis on that part. Too bad environmental organizations don't want anything else either, because all forms of power production has an environmental impact.
Yeah I read about that in a newspaper! Funny how that was just variations in weather before? It must be because we get better measurements now that we have computers.
I know, isn't this world wonderful? The climate is getting warmer as well!
The Tesla might not use any other fuel than electricity in direct sense, but that electricity has to come from somewhere. It's a bit wrong to say infinite MPG in that sense, but it's still far more effective than the other cars, especially if it uses hydropower, solar power or nuclear power.
Wasn't excactly in my mind because those engines are mostly related to FWD cars, though I am familiar with the concept of putting T5 engines into the older cars as well. And who doesn't love the sound of a 5-cylinder?
The Hydra wheels make the Volvo 740 look infinite times better. Though I like my Volvos with a redblock, I can appreciate this build as well.
How common are those in Middle Europe?
It's a bit disappointing, but they might want to shove all the money into WRC to be able to compete with VW. Hopefully the cars will be used by privateers and not rotting away like the Dodge Darts that Pastrana used a couple of years ago..
The Volvo 940 Turbo, preferably a wagon. The turbo engine is easy to tune and can get 300hp with minor modifications. Noone gives a second look, and you'll be able to carry all of your spy gear in the back.
I think the Tamlans Amarok conversion looks better. It has actually been chosen as an ambulance in Norway, not only for offroad use.
Saab 9-5 Sportcombi. 27 has survived so far.
