Oh and as I wrote my other comment, I remembered the obvious choice. The Volvo Amazon (121). It's not perfect, but it's a classic.

Seing all these classics go for under 5k makes me sad. I mean, where I live, they mostly go for double the money.. Though I have found something.

And you're lucky to get such a car that cheap. The Ford Sierra XR4 would be 10k USD where I live..

Nice list, where I live almost every student drives either a Golf, an Audi A4 or the 240/740/940.

The european cousin, the Opel Kadett C City approves.

My car of course. 4x4, lots of equipment, decent looks and cheap to buy and insure. The 2.0 four-banger doesn't go that fast, but fast enough to have some fun. You could always bolt on a turbo or other stuff if you want to. It has worked great for me for seven months during high school hooning and driving.

I used to race this one in my familys livingroom. I don't rember if I discovered cars before or after I got it, but i think it is the main reason why I am interested in cars.

The Mazda RX4 as well, I really like the 70's Japanese design!

Mazda RX3. What's not to like about this car?

1993 Subaru Legacy Turbo. Happens to be my realistic dream car as well! (could take a 92 as well if you have one)

Depends on the car, but when it doesn't look like a car anymore, it's time to give up..

AMC Pacer. It's such an iconic car from this era, it does have RWD (could make for some interesting engine swaps) and it's not what the regular guy would buy. Heck, I want one, or the Gremlin..

What about the Mazda 323?

The Volvo 240 can do everything!

Porsche 959.

I've always thought that I'd buy any car but the Honda Civic, the Toyota Corolla (decided that I might want a pre 80's one) or a VW Golf. That means this is a natural question for me. I ended up buying a Mitsubishi Galant, but that is basicly a bigger car than the Civic. My choice would be the Subaru Impreza Diesel.

For me, a Volvo V70 with extra lights. Civilian edition or not, these cars are the favourite choice for the Norwegian cops. A buddy of mine always went hiding when he saw a V70. Even this last weekend, a V70 drove behind me for quite some time, freaking me out because I had just drove past them while they were doing

Just thinking a bit outside the box (USA) here, this is a 1972 Opel Commodore GS/E (hardtop). Not the most famous car, but it is one of the most stylish I've ever seen. 60's and 70's Opel are a bit under the radar right now, so the cars aren't that expensive. I found a 1977 Commodore GS/E for 13000 USD in Norway

Now playing

Redneck Rollercoaster doing backwards wheelies is quite awesome.

I kind of like the older version.. But great choice!
