That’s a lot of words to say “we thought the logo looked cooler this way.”

I mean if we’re basing our assessments on Rotten Tomatoes scores than surely the 2013 Danny Glover starring Extraction is the Liam Hemsworth of Extractions with a score of 27%(though surprisingly a user rating of 89%??). The Bruce Willis version is clearly the Larry Hemsworth of Extraction variants. Barely even an

“I’m Jewish and my ancestors were also slaves”

Maggie’s only truthful statement “I’m everywhere.” You sure are Maggie, you sure are.... I wonder if she would keep speaking that nonsense if Jewish folks hadn’t received and still receives tons of money from the US government? She should probably boycott the any event that memorializes the Holocaust since slavery and

Great, lady, great for the Jews. Thank you so much! Like we don’t have enough trouble without you being an asshole AND announcing your religion at the same time. What people of a certain mindset will remember is the fact that you are Jewish and they will attribute your assholery to that. Good going. Please stay home.

In the video, Maggie is wearing a Mets shirt (which is technically classified as a Confederate monument because it celebrates a “lost cause”)

The ride itself isn’t racist, but it’s based on a racist film that Disney would rather people forget. So why brand one of their most famous rides after it when there’s a much better film they can use, one which people actually like?

I get that Disney tried to not do “Voodoo is evil black people magic”, but that’s how it comes across

I get it, and the only reason why I say it isn’t based on Song of the South is that it completely ignores the live action portions of the movie and instead focuses on the tales of Uncle Remus (other than the use of Zip-a-dee-do-dah, which even now they can’t give up.)

Besides which, the movie has been locked in the vault for DECADES.  Disney is a corporation that banks on children’s connection to its character intellectual property.  How many kids do you know that connect with Bre’er Rabbit and the Tar Baby?

Poor attempt at trolling. Also, clearly you have not been to Disney or Magic Kingdom for a long time. Because they did significantly tone down on the rape and gunfights a looooooooong time ago.

But...Splash Mountain is based on the Uncle Remus stories, which were also the inspiration for the movie.

The song is influenced by the chorus of the pre-Civil War folk song “Zip Coon,” which gave rise to a blackface minstrel show character of the same name.

Songs actually REAAAAALLY racist. Disney just spun it a lot less racist

While I assume you’re just being boring trolly, Pirates has been rethemed for awhile to cut down on the rape... sadly they added Johnny Depp to the ride, so they didn’t get ride of the womanizing.

On its face, no, the ride doesn’t seem racist, but it doesn’t take much digging to spot the issues. First and foremost, the ride is based on a movie that Disney, as a corporation, has been distancing itself from since the late 70s. They did this because the movie basically presents black people as being nostalgic for

I also enjoy that song, but ONLY in the context of the ride. Like, I will listen that whole ride soundtrack and grin from ear-to-ear, but I can’t listen to the actual movie-version. I am fully on board with the re-theme, and there are tons of things that don’t need a lot of work (riverboat jamboree anyone?). Disney,

Obviously something that needs to be done, but I’ll miss Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah. Far as I know, that song itself wasn’t racist (unless the Bluebird is some dog whistle reference to police), but the portrayal of Uncle Remus who sings it was.

Nobody come at him. The first Frozen is a mess of conflicting themes, inconsistent characters, and a clearly rushed bad guy “reveal” to top it all off.

well done disney. Also the Princess and the Frog>>>>>>>>>>> Frozen. Come at me!
