Ha. That's exactly my student loan payment. At least he's studying engineering and not English lit (guess which one I picked!)

Ah. Okay. This is why I don't like Twitter. Everything seems irrelevant to me.
The #nerdland tag? I'm so confused.
There are people who, in the interest of self-defense, have to unenthusiastically use restraint or force to avoid serious injury. Then there are people like the guy in the video, who appears to leap at the opportunity to punch a woman. Then there are people like you, who get on the internet to defend hitting women.
My guess is that there are a few names that "Katie" comes from - Kathryn, Kathleen, Kaitlyn, etc. and lots of different spellings, and none of them were all wildly popular at once.
I feel like exotic-but-traditional-sounding names really took off in the past few years: Ava, Gabriella, Mia, Sophia. Girls with names that end in "a" and "ia" are the new girls whose names end in "y" or "ie" of the 90s (Brittany, Whitney, Katie, etc.)
I feel that way about Olivia :( I really love the name but THREE of my friends have named their freakin' kid Olivia. Also, my favorite "boy" name, Charlie, just happened to be the name of my longest-term boyfriend with whom I had a terrible breakup, so I don't think I can justify naming my kid that (even though I…
This is perfect, and summarizes everything I wanted to say but couldn't about why this article bothered me. Thank you.
Are you opposed to generating media attention in order to bring this case to court?
Ha. Sorry, but the first part of your comment reminded me of one of my favorite 30 Rock scenes.
Ugh. I'm so sorry you had to go through that. It's incredible how ignorant people are when it comes to sexual assault - or, really, abuse of any sort.
It's incredibly offensive that you choose to ignore the profusion of scientific research on the genetics of obesity.
You do realize there is a difference between "feeling ashamed" and "telling someone they should feel ashamed", right?
Oh. I see how you might have misconstrued that. I was not replying to the original post, but to the author's first comment on this thread:
Ha. Thanks. I was a little (read: a lot) drunk, hence the prolixity/oversharing.
What post are you replying to? I never claimed that was the ethical issue...
Exactly. It seems puritanical and a touch misogynistic to assume women's breasts are "devalued" by how many people have seem them.
Here's my two cents as a lady and a card-carrying feminist (I know, I can hear the collective groan!): I think this is gross, personally, but I also don't believe that showing one's boobs "devalues" a woman in any way. No one who doesn't want to should ever be forced or coerced to, that's for damn sure, but I also…
I attended Ohio State and, frankly, I don't understand the silly rivalry because we sound a lot alike.
Hm. I always thought the kid was the butt of that joke, since the implication is that he'll be killed?
