Worth mentioning that the story only starts to get good in expansions (or that’s what I’ve been told). I finally recently managed to get through the core story and almost to Heavensward in a 2-week free login campaign last year and the story has been dull as bricks so far.

Yoshi-P is being typically vague here, and/or some of the idea behind his words are probably lost in translation. His platformers and pits analogy does ring familiar and I can see where in FF14 that’s applied, when it comes to the core battle systems.

Tired: Drip-feeding cosmetic content over the course of seasons to keep players’ wallets engaged.

Wired: Drip-feeding game-changing content weekly to keep players goin ape shit.

And the campaign in T2 was excellent; a great story. I love the portion of the time jump. Just outstanding. They really could have build out an excellent full blown single player campaign for a 3rd one and it probably make alot of cash.

My machine gun turret placements finally have their AA-gun callings

I think it was the innovative parkour motion that added an extra dimension for me. I’m not great at Counter-Strike twitchy shooting, but adding platformer-style situational awareness and a few weapons/power-ups that synergized with it made me competitive in multiplayer.

The titans themselves were just gravy on top of

The first Titanfall was incredible. The game took one of the best parts of BF2142, the mechs, and expanded that gameplay. A truly unique game. You could do mech or you could play as a regular ground-pounder.

I really enjoyed Titanfall and Titanfall 2 - partially because of the fun split in pilot/Titan combat mechanics, but also partially because my performance was generally better in these games than in Halo or other shooters. I never figured out if that was because I was better at the game than other games or if the more

I’m surprised there was no mention of what I think was one of the coolest features - the fact that after a team had lost a match, they had a chance to extract from the map as a sort of moral victory amidst their defeat. It made for some really cool stories of narrowly escaping after a tough match.

Pokemon Training is treated more like a professional sport in-universe than the dog fighting critics say it is. The importance of Trainers listening to their Pokemon to strengthen their bond is enforced in almost every episode.

They’ve done spinoff shows, specials, and even regular series episodes without him, but Horizons will be the first full series of the weekly Pokemon anime where Ash is completely absent.

Indeed. That is literally the only instance of friendly fire that could have inspired its inclusion.

The friendly fire in Magicka was clearly an homage to that scene from Starship Troopers.

Arrowhead Games has a history with friendly fire as core element in their games since Magicka in 2011.

Normally I can’t stand FF in most games.

I was playing over the weekend, and a friend accidentally pegged me with the resupply beacon. Hilarity ensued, obviously. After frantically running around and diving to the ground to try and shake the little glowing orb of imminent death, I realized only one thing could save me - a perfectly timed, split second dive

Games with high danger are getting more and more popular— PUBG, Tarkov, and now Helldivers really emphasis the lethality of combat. This is in stark contrast to games like Battlefront, which overload the player but don’t necessarily have any real risk. Players want the tense moments to become the showpieces in their

Roy, much like Liko, is tied to some mysterious history in the Pokémon universe, having been given an ancient but sealed Poké Ball by his grandfather which he keeps without knowing what monster rests inside”

I remember hearing about Pokemon back when it exploded in the 90's and someone explained it to me as “people get their animals together to fight each other” and I was immediately turned off. Ended up watching the anime and loved it and have been a massive fan of Pokemon ever since. I remember how funny and “adult” it
