My local utility has stopped shut-offs and are temporarily restoring water for anyone whose water has been shut off.

They removed the CC option and the only way to pay it was with cryptocurrency or a direct transfer from your bank account -- aka super sketchy 

I see now that they stopped accepting credit cards (i.e., eliminating buyer protections) so definitely not worth the risk anymore.
