I played through the tutorial portion (not bad for a tutorial) and felt thrown to the wolves on the zero gravity aspect. After bumping my ship around my own planet and nearly hurtling myself towards a sun, I decided to pick up later to try to improve my flying skills. When I checked back in, it saved nothing.
