Yeah. This. Exactly this. That S-Klasse was freaking driving me crazy— even the “VIN range decode” didn’t come up with the right combination of parts.

Porsche did the same thing on many aircooled 911 parts and you wont know what you have until you take something apart and match up the parts with exploded view diagrams of the version immediately before or after the car you are actually working on.
Probably, anybody that’s worked on a Benz of that era will marvel at how “big, well-managed German auto companies” seemingly mix-and-matched parts from whatever was available.
Somebody just wants to watch you descend into madness, and they know exactly how to do it.
Neutral: I would have gone with Cogswell Cogs. You’d have both instant brand recognition and an obvious tie in with cool stuff of the future.
If Comment of the day was still around, this man would have achieved Nirvana.
Hey now, that’s not fair.
2nd Gear: Sales are up!
So the lithium market is depressed? How ironic.
My three catchphrases:

I’ve never had a problem in stop and go. When you really start to question your love for a manual is when the traffic is crawling juuuuust a bit slower than idle in first. That sucks. Stop and go is fine.
Wuss. I’ve been driving manuals in L.A. traffic for 20 years. It’s fun and gives me something to do.
I drove manuals in hours long traffic on the 405 in LA. It’s shitty, but it’s shitty in anything. It wasn’t enough to make me want to quit the clutch.
That right there is bullshit. Anyone that drives a manual knows that.
Exactly. FCA customers don’t ask about manuals. The ones who would aren’t FCA customers anymore. This is why I went Subaru.
This is a good take.
I’m not sure about best, but I’m rather taken by what Bertone did the the Alfa 1900 SS.
“adiminstration would have been more apt”
