We did have Omerta, which is XCom with a business management sim (Don't remember a lot), and it wasn't really good.

I don't know why I didn't put this in with my list. Completely agree. Amazing opening, and my favorite Final Fantasy.

One post in and I'm done. Don't need to go any further. FF8 was my first RPG so there isn't a single piece of that game that doesn't evoke strong feelings for me, but the intro is on a whole other level.

Evangelion was promising, but annoying at the beginning, confusing in the middle, had tons of repetitive animation and completely fell apart at the end.

Rahxephon blows Evangelion out of the water. WAY BETTER.
