A) I wouldn't really say fat

Then let's make it! Instead of complaining about everything that sucks, let's just make it happen, one person at a time.

Serious question, but can't we just redefine chivalry to play up the aspects we like (protecting the weak (male or female), being polite, etc)? What's the harm of that? I get it, women should not be considered delicate waifs or objects of possession, but aren't there some values still left in the belief?

I was basing the "bogey man" type article around a few by Lindy West. To which attributed a behavior to all white men. So, yes it was a behavioral issue, but by attributing it to an entire group it makes it seem like t's the group that is the target. So yes, I don't match the behavior, so it isn't about me. But I do

Ah, well in regards to showing men MORE deference than women in this forum then I'm with you. No. Hell no. In that regard, this is not our place.

More so that this is your safe place, where you can just be angry and not care about who is listening. Your place where you don't have to give deference to men. This is your outlet, so you don't do it in the rest of the world, your place where you feel you're allowed to let loose a bit. Your "world of cardboard"

I have to apologize, since I'm putting this conversation in context with the commentary on the article about White Male Victimhood. Which was a conversation speaking out against the harmful speech that seemed to group all white men together. This article being the counter point, so I included the context in my head.

The problem is, all of those guys who jaded you in your experiences, they're in the wrong. THEY should have considered your feelings and opinions. Fuck them. And I apologize for their behavior if it means anything coming from a single geek guy. I know it's a hollow gesture, but it's the best I can do in a blog comment.

I...well, I'm still not sure where you're going here. It seems to me you're equating absurdest notions with someone saying "Hey, you're sounding condescending" which seems more like a criticism of your argument. Tone is very difficult to pull off online, so it could be valid.

I don't know if you're insulting "Nice Guys" or attacking pro-feminism men in general, but I do know you and Thesarus.com must be best friends

You took the words out of my mou- er, keyboard

See, I feel for you, since I to only jumped into this whole commenting business because I was getting tired of the attacking nature of the community, despite agreeing with the fundamental goals.

You sir sound like a right reasonable fellow, whose advise I should probably heed. I just have a hard time not taking the troll bait when attacks on "MRAs" and the system become attacks on all men in general.

I read on behalf of my mother, aunts, cousins, sisters, nieces, girlfriend, every female friend I've ever had, and my inevitable future daughters. To have had women play such an integral part of my life and to not honor that by trying to understand their concerns would be disrespectful.

This, plus the top article on Jezebel right now, basically means it's time for me to insert foot in mouth and walk away. Cheers!

1) Time equals money. While some people are willing to do things for free, some are not. That's her right to choose. And on Kickstarter, other's right to determine if they're willing to pay for it.

No it attacks ALL STRAIGHT WHITE MEN. It doesn't tailor it's attacks. It lumps the MRAs, the normal guys who don't care, the politicians limiting women's rights, the fathers trying to raise successful daughters, all of them, in the same category and stamps it with a big red X.

Her target maybe be that group, but it wasn't what she said. It's like saying I hate ice cream because it tastes like pistachio. You may be able to figure out that what I really mean is I just hate pistachio ice cream, but my statement was too broad and covered all ice cream, making it pretty irresponsible if my true

Ah, well then I misunderstood the articles intent, thank you for the clarification
