I nearly jumped off the couch (I streamed it from home) when they mentioned PS4 controller support! I wasn’t sure I’d even bother with Apple Arcade but with Dual Shock 4 compatibility I’m more inclined. Of course it depends on the price but still, that’s a huge incentive.

I’m still not sold on the idea of an AI making reservations for dinner or hair appointments. Is this something people find is such a hassle that it needs to be automated to save, what, 2 minutes talking to someone? Most of us only communicate via text anyway so it’s nice to use our phone to actually speak to another…

I find it hard to believe that the units sent to reviewers were “beta models”. At the time of those reviews the phone was due to ship in about a week. I’d argue that a beta product would be sent out weeks if not months prior to release, not 10 days.

I chalk up the lack of uniformity across publications to the early days of the iPad when apps weren’t optimized for the larger screen. With each new issue (of the magazines I read) I’m seeing more of them adopt and adapt their publication to Apple’s UI guidelines making the experience just as easy as reading a news…

I think the bigger question is who’s asking for an Android tablet? Granted the Fold could be the shot in the arm the Android tablet market needs but with nearly a decade on the market I’m not sure the Fold will be enough. 

I’d argue that we’ve already passed the point where we should care about Rey’s parents or anything from her past. If you can’t get it done in nearly 6 hours across two movies then you’re better off leaving that nugget of information to a novel, comic book, or cartoon.

What makes the sequels bad (or horrible as I often say) is they got way too heady and the imagery lost a lot of its originality.

I can’t imagine it’s any worse than Dr. Strange, which was good to a fault but will be the one film I’d prefer to skip when I decide, one of these days, to have an MCU marathon (which will likely take an entire weekend). 

My overarching point with the head and/or chest strap as well as the drone is that there are much less expensive options to fulfilling what HoloLens can do. And yes, I noticed that Microsoft plans to bring their tech to Android and iOS, which begs the question why anyone would invest in a $3,500 HoloLens headgear if…

So much to unpack here but the bottomline is that your anecdotal situation, while cute and might work for a sitcom set in the future, isn’t rooted in reality.

The unfolded portion of the stage demo was okay except for when I noticed that huge notch on the right corner. It’s more unsightly than the deep notch on the Pixel 3 and frankly I wonder why it’s even there. Just leave all the cameras on the outside.

Rogue is probably one of the only female heroes that’s fully clothed and wearing a bomber jacket while every other heroine is almost always half-naked.

Agreed! I was all but convinced that they were doing some kind of AR trick with a 3D model placed over an actual beachfront. I’ve never seen water look this realistic before. Moana was impressive but whatever they’re doing here appears to be the next level of water effects.
