I love me some TVRs. Other than the fact that they rival early-80’s Porsche Turbos in the “kill the driver” contest, they’re awesome machines. Unfortunately, they’ve always looked like a Frankenstein mash-up of parts bin pieces from thirty different manufacturers.

The Burke is also 100 ft shorter than a Zumwalt. Following seas will have this corkscrewing like crazy.

So in the roughly three seconds it has to fire all 182 of its rounds, the plane has to be in the perfect firing position. I’m sure that works great if your target is a large, hovering helicopter.

Kind of along the same lines, although not part of the aircraft structure. Great idea in 1960, but they were miserable in practice. Dulles phased out the last of these a few years ago.

Where’s the aerial refueling port? This doesn’t look like it could carry enough fuel for extended supersonic transit.
