USWNT- Big fish in a very very small pond
Asking for the purpose of a thought exercise:
This argument is both comical and uninformed.
The ones writing the check maybe?
People who understand economics, and who understand that comparing the two based on their ability relative to their competition is stupid.
The people paying them probably do, given that’s where the money to pay them with comes from.
Equal pay why? Do they generate equal revenues? If yes, then fine. If no, then you’re a bloody communist.
I never disagree with facts. I take issue with whether the statistics provided are actual facts, or are complete. As others have mentioned, properly corrected for time and experience, pay rates are statistically equal. If this were not true, women would have an advantage, since they were paid less, and would…
“Today, for every $1 earned by men, our female employees in the U.S. earn 99.8 cents at the same job title and level,” wrote Kathleen Hogan, executive vice president of human resources for Microsoft in a post on the company’s site. She also shared information about the differences (or lack thereof) in compensation…
Citing a lifehacker/jezebel piece that is citing a left leaning liberal think tank doesn’t exactly nail your argument. But I can play too. Here is a right leaning economic policy think tank that counters yours.
“Don’t have any real points to counter with. hmm. Flustered. Cast insult! Nice!”
When the variables are controlled to where they are as similar as possible on an individual basis, there is a statistically insignificant pay gap between men and women. And it is likely part of this remaining “pay gap” is explained by less time spent at work during child rearing years by women vs men.
How many posters will resort to name calling of those who disagree with them?
Damn I didn’t know professors at Harvard are morons! I am sure you are MUCH smarter than her.
While I will not get into the pay gap issues immediately, women are largely not represented in Tech because frankly there just are not that many women in tech. They choose other fields to go into... I can only go from what I saw in my particular college but out of the WHOLE Computer program(CS, IT, IS) we had maybe…
If there is a woman out there who has the same experience and education as a man, and has been working in the same field for the same company for the same amount of time, please, for the love of God, let me know. We will file a lawsuit and we will win. And we will make millions. And I don’t even have a fuckign law…
Hmmm who I do I believe, a Harvard professor or a blogger?
Pay gap stats are the most misleading stats ever.
A YouTuber thought he could go toe-to-toe with actual journalists for a newspaper that’s won 39 Pulitzer Prizes, and, surprise surprise, has egg on his face for not verifying everything that his sources told him.
I seriously don’t feel bad for youtubers at all. Get a real damn job that benefits society.
