The potatoes looked great right up to the point where the dumped the gravy over it. Why get them extra crispy if you’re just going to drown them later? That’s a meal that would have absolutely needed a texture contrast, and formerly crispy potatoes aren’t it.

I know editorial standards around here are pretty low; but the headline and through line in this story is phenomenally misleading.

Nice Price.

One of the things that’s been lost in the transition from the Emergency Broadcast System to the Emergency Alert System is the script:

Sure the build quality was sus .... I don’t think Tesla will implode. I assume he would be pushed out long before the shareholders that matter allow that to happen”

With a quick assumption of the average semi drive, from loading dock to loading dock, averages about 45 mph; 500 mile range gives you about 11 hours of driving. Adding in the mandatory 30 minute driving break after 8 hours, and the range comes out to right around the driver hours limit.

But that’s not what the Barr Group and found when they did their deep-dive analysis.

Does Tesla do brake-by-wire? If they do, there may be an unusual circumstance where there’s a software defect, or a software/hardware interface defect, could lead to this circumstance.

Elmo uses loans against his $TSLA stock options for financing; but the loaning banks have the option to call those loans or demand even more leverage if the price drops low enough. They almost have an obligation to do so when the falling stock price (down 50% YTD) undercollateralizes those loans. The memelord just sold

No dice at $6k.

This glorious bastard right here:

Because they were equipped differently. A CVPI included a transmission oil cooler, a larger alternator, and I think a larger radiator. Other, maybe optional equipment included bulletproof door inserts, a secondary power distribution box, and maybe an additional brace or two. The base vehicle also got heavier over time.

This may be a very big issue. I don’t know of Tesla’s numbers; but the industry-wide estimate has women being the key decision maker in 60-80% of all auto purchases.

Not really. The exact quote is Any customer can have a car painted any color that he wants so long as it is black.” The context was developing the Model T as a platform; focusing on production at scale.

I don’t understand what AAA is doing here. The conclusion they drew from their test aligns with the SAE Level 2 classification; which states that the human in the driver’s seat “...must constantly supervise these support features; you must steer, brake or accelerate as needed to maintain safety”

Putin is attempting to unify the white, Eastern Orthodox Christian, Russian-speaking world under a single nation, and sees Ukraine, Belarus, and other former Soviet satellite states as components of that nation that must be re-absorbed to undo Russia’s shame after the breakup of the Soviet empire and the chaotic and

Now, an artist called Shl0ms has destroyed a perfectly good Lamborghini to sell its part[sic] as NFTs.

“Michigan’s no-fault insurance means the person hit by Ezero’s Tesla would be responsible for his medical costs. It’s one of the reasons I stopped accepting press cars, as I didn’t want a simple mistake to ruin the lives of any of my fellow Detroiters.”

But we don’t rely on only vision as a sense. There’s also vestibular, proprioceptive sensing (balance and body position) and much better stereo vision processing connected to a very sophisticated inference engine that lets a person figure out the meaning behind the visual and non-visual scene. Essentially, we recreate

Vision only is a dead end, not a path to Level 4; the phantom braking is an example of why. My first guess, the Teslas on autopilot are stopping for shadows that they can’t disambiguate from objects. I’ll see this from time to time with my lane assist, where I’ll get departure warnings for the shadows of power lines.
