It’s because the IRS recended Bob Jones University’s tax exemption.

“Basic corporate governance rules that allow shareholders “with insignificant stakes in public companies [to] make shareholder proposals that pursue social or political agendas unrelated to the interests of the shareholders as a whole”—which is to say, the ability of non-huge investors to participate in the governance

On the contrary, I think something as pedestrian (pun intended) as a tunnel would be a huge risk.

And it’s not just OSHA that’s concerned about excavation, considerd one of the most hazardous construction operations.

There will be, at least in Europe; where the ECE regulation will require automatic headlamp activation with an ambient light sensor; and headlamp switch that allows the autolamps to be active with every ignition cycle.

It’s always worth pointing out that the CAFE is calculated for the fleet. It doesn’t matter that automakers can build 50+MPG vehicles; because the CAFE number is an average fuel economy of what they sold. If you have a 25MPG truck and a 75MPG PHEV; your CAFE number is 50 if you sell one of each. Sell 8 trucks and 2

Everybody is asking this: “How many traditional gas stations do auto makers own?”

There’s some nagging thought that the name, which was originally given to his grandfather, were specifically to honor Jefferson Davis, president of the confederacy; and PGT Beauregard, prominent confederate general. And considering Sessions is 70 years old; the math works out that Jefferson Beauregard Sessions, Sr.

USA Hockey has been cracking down on abuse of officials with a renewed emphasis of zero tolerance.

Oh, I have no doubt that some mid-level officer did the detailed planning and presented the summary to up the chain of command; which presented a summary of the summary to the President. I would hope that the President would ask questions and look for the downside to weigh the risks vs rewards; and it looks like that

Hang on a sec...

It’s really not that much of a worry. Between the Muslim Ban, appointing Jerry Falwell Jr. to lead higher education reform panels, and DeVos at Education; the United States is going to quickly surrender it’s scientific leadership.

That’s not true. The UCMJ obligates the individual to refuse all unlawful orders. Yes, that’s it’s a positive defense if one was to be brought up on charges; you’d need to prove that the order was unlawful.

Is that Jim Gaffigan as the fare that’s from Indiana?

Uh.. speaking of numbers and bullshit; your graph doesn’t have units. A strict reading has 12 cars delivered 15 time units (fortnights? Olypmiads? Months?) And is this graph supposed to be showing cumulative deliveries, or delivery rate?

It’s really no question that Puerto Rico gets the short end of the stick. Puerto Ricans are US citizens; but they don’t have voting representation in Congress.

See my other response — it’s more complicated than it is or is not part of the US. There’re an unincorporated commonwealth; a self-governing territory. Check the CIA factbook, or this Wikipedia page. That statistic comes from The Tax Foundation, so I’m just going with their data.

Puerto Rico is an unincorporated commonwealth; and while the residents are US citizens, the government itself is not part of the US. They don’t, for example, have representation in Congress; nor do they vote for president.

Not really.

This actually may not be a terrible idea. The US has the third highest marginal corporate tax rate in the world (38.92%); only behind the UAE (55%) and Puerto Rico (39%). This is why multi-national companies headquartered in the US don’t repatriate profits earned outside the US; and why US companies are inverting —
