well... because it looks to be very time consuming, we are moving away from driving boats like the one showed in the video, and because it would increase costs across the board: R&D, production, sale, etc.

That really isn't a terrible price compared to (paint only); $120 for an Apple keyboard, $350 for an iPad, $200 for Studio Beats, $40 for a 360 stick or $30 for an iPhone 4 dock.

Or if you have a skate shop nearby go buy some grip tape and exact-o knife it. The benefit of the diy method is grip tape comes in a plethora of colors and patterns so you aren't stuck on black.. if you decide to go that route.
