Actually...their numbers for the work done by the episode are really low not because of shitty work...but because their costs they incur only show labor. The materials are given by the show’s sponsors. So you never see the material costs at all.

Very true. The entire reason I was able to get my citizenship in the US was my willingness to do a six year stint in the military. There are certain jobs that very difficult to fill. The average American teenager can’t pass the physical, background check, and be willing to go into terrible situations. 

An insurgency would be extremely problematic. Locals know the layout of the land much better. The military in theory would want to hold by from alienating populations further. The thing people tend to not realize is that for every single insurgent fighter one side has, they must have between 10 and 50 no combat…
