I would let that argumentation go through, but in the normal fight for the ball the goalkeeper is in a huge advantage: his hands can get much higher than a player with his head. The goalkeeper is always in an advantageous position, he is (overly) protected in the goal area, but not in the penalty area.

because Lewa was offside, but he is protected against questionable challenges even after the whistle. You want to protect players and not only was it a challenge that could injure a player significantly, he in fact injured him.

If you go through a players head to get to the ball, that not “got the ball”. You could talk me down to a yellow, but if it wasnt offside, that would have been a penalty and a card.
