Not that it matters, but Puk isn’t the team’s ace. That would be Logan Shore. Puk isn’t even in the weekend starting rotation at this point.

BJ and Uggla were awful, but they were generally awful in the strike zone. Upton simply couldn’t catch up to anything faster than 85 MPH, and Uggla was just done-zo.
Gattis is a likable guy and a big-time power threat (check out the homers he hit off Hamels in 2013), but he will swing at pitches at which you simply don’t see Major League hitters swing. He struck out against Jon Niese in 2013 on a fastball that was basically in a pitch-out location.
Bert Blyleven doesn’t merit a verified check mark? Twitter’s tough.
Genuine question from a non-soccer person: what's the ultimate goal of Queens Park or any other team wallowing around in near-relegation land? What's the long-term objective they're trying to achieve?
Baseball is well clear of the drug-soaked era that the Rockies were born into, and the sport is just downright different now.
In fairness, Lauria cleared a cool $57 when he sold that tarp to a local middle school.
A few years ago I lost my job in Florida and moved to lovely DeSoto, Kansas to live with my mom and step-dad. I spent a year and a half driving around on expired, out-of-state license plates before getting fresh, legal KS plates. Didn't get pulled over once.
I’m sure this had nothing to do with Joakim’s reaction, but there was actually a similar incident in college when Vanderbilt head coach Kevin Stallings wouldn’t give Noah the ball out-of-bounds after a stoppage. It was in 2007, during Vandy’s upset of UF.
I don't peel oranges. I cut slices out of the orange with a knife, then eat the slice whole, peel and all.
Ditto. I was trying to figure out if Tracy was referring to a particularly awful boss.
Jim Leyritz meekly flies out to left field on a Mark Wohlers fastball instead of chipping a home run over the left field fence on a hanging Mark Wohlers slider.
Eh, infuriating as that was, the Braves probably still lose that game with a no-call. They couldn’t hit for shit with RISP that night.
Am I wrong to think that the thought process here was, "See if he harasses a flight attendant?"
"It takes a true leader and a man of extraordinary intellect and self-awareness to admit when he and his friends have acted rashly. Roger Gooddell proved himself that sort of man and that sort of leader with this decision."
Malia Obama is two years away from going to college? Good lord. Time is a jackass.
Mariotti apparently got a new gig at the SF Examiner, which I assume is why he's getting those photos.
I was skeptical of Twitter for a while, but I've become pretty fond of it since joining. It's now the first site I visit in the morning, just so I can determine if the world blew up while I was asleep. And there's undeniably something very cool about being able to interact with people you see on TV or in the movies-…
Right. At this point it makes sense for the union treat every issue as a point of vital interest and contention. No reason to unilaterally surrender a bargaining chip.
"Fire of indignant, misplaced self-righteousness?"
