The above graph looks at the entire population. I indicated that sub-populations will account for much of this difference.

There are meaningful differences here. African Americans are more likely to die by murder (by other African Americans, typically), more likely to develop diabetes, more likely to suffer from poor nutrition, etc.

Especially considering the US's population is much larger, so the effects would be even more diluted...

So when does high self esteem end and narcissism begin?

Scotland is ~8%of the UK's population, so their effect on the life expectancy may not be that much.

If you compare white life expectancy in Canada and the US, they are similar.

By the time I got there, I was rooting for the machines to win.

Gollum is evil (entirely selfish), but he is also pitiable. He lost his ability to control himself because of the ring. At best, he's to be pitied, but you are right, he is no hero.

Fair enough, but my point was that there will always be carbon dioxide in the air.

I know that, but the question is one of producing more energy than it consumes. I'm skeptical of that.

How was the Ted Kennedy-written NCLB bill anti-science?

Colour me skeptical. There have been enough scams about turning water into combustible fuel in the last 40 years that I'm not prepared to give this credence until we've had several rounds of verification.

Well, since the combustion of the fuel would create more carbon, why couldn't you just run off of your exhaust and a container of water?

This isn't nearly as bad as the travesty of awarding a Nobel because you developed frontal-lobe lobotomies.

Probably the safest explanation possible. Thank you for de-creeping ROTJ for me.

His outfit draws your eyes to his crotch. Mission accomplished.

What's inexplicable is why a Hut would be sexually attracted to humanoids. Jabba must be into trans-species sex.

Anyone read Abraxas & the Earthman? It was a pretty good graphic novel that had a crappy ending.

Do the producers not know the stories around Ragnarok? Odin is supposed to die at the hands of the Fenris wolf, Thor by the Midgard Serpent, etc. Marvel even did a Ragnarok episode (and showed the destruction starting the cycle again).

Frankly. I'd be more interested in their commitment to math rather than science.
