That's a matter of perspective. There were parts of every book that dragged, were tedious and boring which were rectified by making it into a screenplay. HBO has got this down, I have no worries about the next few seasons. The only thing I'm worried about is GRRM getting the final book out before the show catches up.
I didn't read the books until I'd finished watching the first season. It made it pretty awesome, I read all of the dialogue in the actors' voices. I could see Peter Dinklage strutting his bad self around.

Yeah, tanks and healers tend to need the custom UIs. DPS can get away with the default one, but the default one was so ugly that I couldn't deal with it.

My very casual husband also likes to play multiple characters, he's leveling one of each and he reached the original requirements over a month ago. Now with the addition of Legacy level 6, which is ridiculously easy to get for people who do play multiple characters, there's really no excuse.
