Not entirely sure 300+hp is really all that weak. V6's are starting to make a LOT of power, and not half bad torque these days...

I am gonna have to disagree with you there.  The spring WILL go nuts.  I have personally gotten a greenstick fracture, but know of a person who broke an arm when the spring compressor failed.  That spring is designed to hold up ~ 750 lbs and handle the forces of that weight generated while it smacks into concrete.

Step 1:  Buy assembled strut-spring units if you dont know how to use a spring compressor and value your fingers.
